Face masks have always been one of my absolute favorite parts of skincare. My skin is oily and acne prone (and you can read more about my acne struggle here), so I have always added a face mask into my routine to help minimize oil or calm some redness. Over the years I’ve purchased tons and tons of masks- some of them are awesome but some of them are complete flops. But for the sake of this post, here are my 5 current favorites for my oily skin and why I love them.
Tony Moly Sheet Mask
Why I love it: This mask is awesome for reducing the redness associated with breakouts and doesn’t leave your skin feeling overly saturated with product after taking it off and it’s very easy to rub any excess product into your skin. And as a bonus you can save the extra liquid in the wrapper for use as a serum the next day!
Glamglow ‘SUPERMUD’ Clearing Treatment
Why I love it: This is a cult favorite! But that’s not why I love it. It’s amazing in the way that you can actually see the mask working and sucking all that nastiness out of your pores! While it doesn’t make large pores disappear it does help to dramatically reduce the size of them after a few uses. It also doesn’t leave my skin feeling overly dry after removing it. And as a special bonus this mask can be used as an amazing spot treatment!
Origins ‘Get Out of Trouble’ Mask
Why I love it: This one is my favorite quick mask! I use it anytime my skin needs a little refresh or is starting to move into that pre-breakout stage. It has this super refreshing minty smell and has a cooling sensation on the skin. But the absolute best part of this mask is that it only takes 10 minutes out of your day! I love using it before I shower because it’s just so quick and easy.
Sephora Collection Sleeping Mask in Green Tea
Why I love it: This is as easy as a mask can get because all you have to do is put it on before bed! It’s a nice gel consistency making in not too heavy for oily skin. I was nervous that this mask would leave my skin feeling sticky and oily in the morning but instead it leaves a beautiful glow and it helped to reduce any redness on the skin. But the best part about this mask is that it’s only $4 and I can typically get 4-5 uses out of it.
Origins ‘Clear Improvement’ Charcoal Mask
Why I love it: I don’t think you can go wrong with a good charcoal mask! They always do wonders to dry up and excess oil and help to clean out pores. This one is a particular favorite of mine and I have seen the best results after using it! Here’s a tip- make sure you steam your pores open before using this mask to get the best results.
