Anyone else find that it’s crazy difficult to not buy a new outfit for every event during the holidays? Well I’m with you. I’m on a strict budget this holiday season and that means no room for new outfits for Mia. As a plaid-o-holic this whole no shopping thing is particularly hard for me because all the plaids are just so good this year.
But the good news is that I made this outfit out of things I already own! (and you can too!)
So my goal with this was to do a super cute Thanksgiving outfit. But of course I had nothing Thanksgiving-y. Typical. However it is the holiday season so I went full on Christmas plaid. You can easily swap out the accessories and make this look a little more Thanksgiving friendly.
For me, there is honestly nothing like grabbing a shirt and then putting another shirt on top of it. Or, in easier terms, I love layering! I have this weird thing with re-wearing outfits. A look either needs to be really comfy and cozy or really cute for me to wear it again. Layering helps me to keep mixing and matching my wardrobe and (hopefully) keep my mind off of buying tons and tons of new stuff.
Everything I’m wearing here is a key part of my layering wardrobe. They can easily be worn together or apart and they are all neutral enough to wear with multiple different looks.
It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with fall. It’s also no secret that I’m obsessed with this vest from J.Crew. Roughly 90% of my posts feature this beauty and I’m not going to stop wearing it anytime soon (and no, that statistic might not be accurate). Part of my love for fall comes from my love for easy and casual fall dressing. For some reason it’s just that much easier to get dressed when the leaves turn. I love a good comfy look and fall just means that you can pack on the layers! I’m the kind of person that frequently struggles to re-wear outfits. Part of me thinks because I worked in retail for so long, but maybe I just have a shopping problem that forces me
Happy Monday! So I’m actually writing this on Sunday night because the weather man is predicting lots of heavy winds and rain for tomorrow. We have also been warned that the power will probably go out, so I’m trying to be a little proactive and prepared if I find myself without power and in turn, internet. Not that I can really complain about spending a Monday cozied up under a warm blanket reading a good book. So it’s no secret that I love a good cozy outfit. And typically that includes a good cozy blanket scarf. But let me be honest for a second- I have a love hate relationship with blanket scarves.
I nearly jumped for joy when I saw that this vest had been restocked for the season. It was my absolute favorite vest last year and I’m so excited that it’s back so more people can purchase it in all its fuzzy glory! It popped up in my store last year when I was still working in retail management. I immediately fell in love and purchased it almost instantly. As the season went on my clients would always see this furry beauty and ask me “how exactly do I wear this thing?!”
My closet and the fashion side of my brain are in that awkward phase where I want to wear a flannel with a vest and jeans topped off with a blanket scarf and riding boots- but it’s still a little too warm outside. It happens to me every year and every time the seasons change- PLEASE …
